Questions and Answers

Q: What is Twigger?
A: Twigger is a revolutionary service on the Internet which makes it possible for you to use your e-mail address which you obtained from a provider anywhere in the world using a web browser.

Q: How does Twigger work?
A: First of all you have to go to our website http://www.twigger.co.uk. Then you enter the username and password you have been given by your provider. Finally, you have to select your own provider from the providers list and then press 'go'. You can now read all your new e-mail and also send and reply to e-mail. In other words, do all the things you're used to doing with your e-mail program.

Q: What are the advantages of Twigger?
A: With Twigger you can now easily work with e-mail anywhere in the world without using other e-mail addresses. You keep your own e-mail address at all times. With Twigger, you can also see the attachments before you bring them to your PC. This means that you can remove any corrupt, too large or uninteresting attachments in advance.

Q: How safe is Twigger?
A: Entering your data is just as safe as entering your password in most e-mail programmes. The only extra risk you run by using Twigger is that your username and provider are known to us. We do not know your password and your messages are kept for a maximum of 24 hours on our server. However, Twigger will neither use nor abuse your data and will not read your messages. There will be no selling or loaning of e-mail addresses either.

Q: Who is Twigger meant for?
A: Twigger can be used by anybody with an e-mail address with a British Provider. If the name of your provider is not included in our list, send an e-mail to provider@twigger.com.

Q: What about advertising?
A: Twigger offers you the option of generating more visits to your website. Banners will appear shortly above and below each page. If you are interested in advertising on Twigger, send an e-mail to sales@twigger.com.

Q: Can I use Twigger to read my Compuserve e-mail?

Q: If I read my e-mail via Twigger, can I retrieve it using my own e-mail programme as I usually do?
A: Yes, Twigger allows you to read your e-mail via the web, but it leaves the e-mail on the provider as normal so that when you get home you can still retrieve the e-mail from the provider. This does not work for BT Internet

Q: Free-online
A: You can log in to Free-online using your login name and password. E-mail send by Twigger will use username@free-online.co.uk as reply address, which is not correct. Under the options button in Twigger you can make a signature. This text will be added under every message send with Twigger. You can tell people here to send mail to ***@username.free-online.co.uk in stead of username@free-online.co.uk.

Q: Can I still read messages even after logging out?
A: Yes, using the 'back' button, you can retrieve messages which were on screen a few pages back. You can avoid this by turning off your browser. This means that nobody else can read your messages.

Q: So do I still need an e-mail programme?
A: You will use Twigger when you are not at your own computer but still want to read your e-mail. Once you are back at your computer you can retrieve your e-mail as normal. This gives you all the advantages of a normal e-mail programme but also the advantages of a so-called web-based e-mail service.

Q: What does Twigger cost?
A: As from March 21th 2002 Twigger will BE FREE OF CHARGE THE FIRST 4 DAYS after you have logged in. During these days YOU CAN DECIDE WHAT SUBSCRIPTION YOU WANT. Per 3, 6 or 12 months.

Q: Can I use it to send attachments?
A: Yes, everyone who has a modern web browser can send attachments. If you click the 'create' button to access the screen where you want to create your e-mail, you will see the 'attach' button at the top. By clicking this button you can send files with your e-mail from your own PC..

If you cannot find the 'attach' button in the 'create' window, this means that your web browser does not support file-upload. This means that your web browser is not able to send a file to our server
